Sequence of playing Tongits cards

The sequence of playing Tongits Go is designed to bring smooth and dramatic moves. Players will take turns performing actions in their turn, creating Melds, and interacting with the central stack flexibly.

Start the card game

One player will be randomly selected as the first player; subsequent turns proceed counter-clockwise. In their turn, the player can draw 1 card from the central stack or, if the card just discarded by the previous person can create a Meld with cards in hand, they can take from the discard pile and form a Meld immediately.

Create Meld and place cards

In a turn, players can place created Melds down on the table or keep them hidden in hand for the next turn’s strategy. Before ending the turn, the player must select 1 card to dump into the discard pile.

Operation time

Each draw turn in Tongits Go has 20 seconds. If the player does not operate in time, the system will automatically draw a card from the central stack. When forming Melds and dumping cards, there are also 20 seconds to perform. If no action is taken, the system will automatically create a Meld if possible and dump the card with the highest points.

Sapaw and Fight

If a player has Melds on the table and has not been connected by others, they can initiate a Fight in their turn. Others can choose to Fight or Fold. Then, all players will compare cards in the settlement phase to determine the result of the Tongits Go game.

Declare Tongits when playing fast Tongits cards

When all cards in hand have been combined into Melds, the player can declare Tongits in their turn and enter the settlement phase. This is an opportunity for players to end the card game victoriously immediately if both strategy and luck are favorable.

End of game and Burned

When all central stack cards have been drawn, everyone will enter the settlement phase to calculate points. Players who have not placed any Melds on the table will be counted as Burned. This is how the system determines the final result and distributes rewards to each player.

Scoring in Tongits Go

In Philippines Tongits cards, cards combined into Melds will not be scored. The basic scoring is as follows:

  • A = 1 point

  • 10, J, Q, K = 10 points

  • Cards from 2 to 9 are calculated according to the number written on the card

Understanding how to calculate points will help players make more accurate tactical decisions in each turn.

Player’s turn in Tongits Go

Understanding the turn will help you make accurate decisions and make the most of the opportunity to win rewards. In a Tongits game, players can perform operations:

  • Chow – Pick up discarded cards: When drawing cards, if the discarded card can form a Meld with cards in hand, you can choose to pick up that card and place it directly on the table. This feature helps players quickly complete Melds and increase winning chances when playing Tongits Go.

  • Meld – Place valid cards: In your turn, you can place created Melds on the table. This is a way to reduce points in hand and prepare for the next strategic moves.

  • Sapaw – Connect Melds: You can use your cards to connect to your own Meld or Melds already placed on the table by others. The Sapaw feature helps players be flexible in reducing card points and creating advantages when playing Tongits Go.

  • Dump – Discard cards: Each turn, you must choose one card to dump into the discarded pile. After dumping, the turn ends. This is an important factor to adjust the remaining points in hand and prepare for the next turn.

How to win in Tongits Go

If after dumping cards the remaining points are 0, you can declare “Tongits” to win the round. This is the ultimate goal and the fastest way to win. Players can choose to Fight in two cases:

  • The player has placed a Meld on the table.

  • The Meld placed on the table has not been used by others for Sapaw.

After declaring a Fight, the result will be decided based on the remaining card points of all players. The challenged person has three choices:

  • Challenge: Accept the Fight and compare card points.

  • Fold: Refuse the Fight but still keep the betting ratio from the Fight.

  • Burned: If placing no Meld and having no Special Meld, the player will be Burned, unable to participate in the Fight.

Rules when points are tied in Tongits Go:

  • If remaining points are equal to the opponent, the initiator loses.

  • If two other players have the same points, the person sitting before the initiator will win.

Important card combinations and Melds in Tongits Go

To win in Tongits Go, players need to clearly understand card sets and Melds. Understanding these rules helps you plan effective tactics and maximize the chance of receiving rewards.

  • Straight Flush: Includes 3 or more cards of the same suit and consecutive in numbers, cannot use Q-K-A.

  • Kind of Melds (Three of a Kind or Four of a Kind): Consists of 3 or 4 cards of the same number but different suits, helping to reduce card points in hand and prepare for the next tactic.

  • Special / Secret Melds: Pure straight of 5 cards or more or a set of four cards of the same number but different suits. If you have N Special Melds when winning, the loser must pay N*2 times the Ante. At the same time, Special Melds help players not be Burned in Tongits Go.

  • Bonus Cards: A and K are counted as Bonus Cards. If the winner has N Bonus Cards, the loser must pay an additional N times the Ante. Note that Melds already placed on the table are not counted as Bonus Cards.

  • Sagasa: Appears when you have Three of a Kind in hand and can create Four of a Kind from the central stack cards. If the winner has N Sagasas, the loser must pay an additional N times the Ante.
